The Estée Lauder Companies (NYSE: EL) has unveiled a new scientific research partnership with TUD Dresden University of Technology and its Smell & Taste Clinic, led by renowned olfactory science expert Professor Thomas Hummel. This multi-year collaboration is set to deepen understanding of the neurological links between fragrance and emotion. The insights gained will assist Estée Lauder's scientists and product developers in enhancing fragrance products, packaging, consumer experiences, and marketing strategies.

Estée Lauder Companies has announced a groundbreaking research partnership with TUD Dresden University of Technology and its Smell & Taste Clinic, led by renowned olfactory scientist Professor Thomas Hummel. This collaboration will employ advanced techniques such as neurological assessments, psychometric and physiological analyses, and brain imaging to explore the relationship between scent and emotions. The findings will build on Estée Lauder’s previous research into fragrance benefits and will inform innovation at the company’s global R&D centers, including a new fragrance-focused Atelier in Paris set to open in early 2025.
